I started blogging late December 2012 primarily to make money online. To be frank, blogging hasn’t been fun especially when you spend hours researching and writing articles and at the end of the day, you don’t earn any money.
Although the money wasn’t coming, I still didn’t quit blogging, you know why? the secondary reason for creating this blog was to document and teach others what i know. that was my sole motivation.
Like they say, “the more you teach others, the more you learn”.
I previously was monetizing this blog solely with Google Adsense. It now over a year, I still haven’t reach Adsense threshold.
I have read success stories of bloggers, making money promoting products and in-turn, they earn some percentage commission. It is popularly referred to as Affiliate marketing.
On recommendation by a friend. I chose shareasale and started promoting the Genesis Framework, Treehouse and a host of others.
Last week, I decided to check my shareasale account to see how I was faring, to my greatest surprise, I saw $100 as my commission earned. Luckily for me, it was some few days to the 20th (shareasale usually issue payment to those who have reach their set threshold on 20th of every month).
I chose ACH Direct Deposit as my payment method. Mind you, I am a Nigerian and ACH deposit is only available in the US and few other European country but thanks to Payoneer US payment, I was given an US bank account and was able to completed the shareasale ACH deposit form.
On the 20th, I received a notification from shareasale that my money has been paid to my US bank account.
I waited patiently for my payoneer account to be credited with the money and three days later, I received an email from Payoneer that my account has been credited with $99.69 which is equivalent to $100.
I swiftly walked to the nearest ATM, inserted my payoneer MasterCard and withdrew the money.
Conclusion
This isn’t the first time am earning up to 100 USD online. I am happy because finally, this blog is beginning to earn me money which is a sign of more good things to come.
