Feedburner feeds not updating – A simple fix

I have been trying to cut down the amount of resources such as CPU usage consumed by my blog.

When hosting your website on a shared web hosting, you need to maintain an equilibrium level of server resources consumption in other to prevent any distortion to other website hosted on same server as yours.

My first bold step in reducing server resources consumption was hosting my WordPress blog feed on feedburner.

I had a weird experience with feedburner few days ago. It took over 24hrs for feedburner to update my feed which normally take a maximum of 30 minutes.

While playing around feedburner dashboard, I stumbled on Ping FeedBurner.
Feedburner ping service website

Using feedburner ping service will update your feed immediately, instead of the automatic 30 minute interval. All you need do is provide the address of your website hosting the source feed.

Conclusion

After my discovering of how important feedburner ping service is, I always endeavor to ping my feed each time I publish a blog post.
