Why I Stopped Using Hootsuite For Social Media Marketing

I have been using HootSuite for my social media marketing for months now. Although I got return on every penny spent subscribing to their PRO plan, but not without a dent to my social media reputation.
The reason I opt using Hootsuite was because, I was too lazy to share my blog articles and promotions across my social media networks like Facebook groups, LinkedIN and Twitter account. When I discovered there was a service (hootsuite) that could relieve me of the stress, I didn’t contemplated before using it. Besides it is relatively cheap as it cost $9.99 monthly.

Back to reason I stopped using Hootsuite.
Few weeks after I started using Hootsuite, this blog domain was blocked by Facebook.
Each time a post is to be shared on Facebook using the share button, below was the error message displayed

The content you’re trying to share includes a link that our security system detected to be unsafe

Initially, I thought it was Amazon s3 image URL on my posts that was getting blocked but I was wrong. I also noticed facebook like button wasn’t working.

It dawn on me that my domain name had been blocked by Facebook. I instantly cancelled my PRO account and stopped using Hootsuite. My hypothesis for the ban was, Facebook detected I was a spammer so they had to blacklist my blog.

It’s been over a month since I stopped using the Hootsuite. Hurray!!! This blog isn’t block anymore by facebook and the like and share button are now working.

Conclusion

This is in no way saying HootSuite is bad for social marketing. Maybe if I hadn’t aggressively been using it, I wouldn’t have gotten blocked by Facebook in the first place.
