WP Rocket – Last WordPress Cache Plugin You Will Ever Use

Like most website powered by WordPress, my blog also use a cache plugin.
I have been using the WP Super Cache plugin since the inception of this blog and so far, it has served me well.

A colleague at WPTuts+ informed me about the WP Rocket cache plugin and how it makes WordPress super-fast.

I really didn’t want to ditch WP Super Cache because of it simplicity in setup unlike the big-guns such as W3 Total Cache with tons of configuration options.
On installing the WP Rocket cache plugin, i discovered the setup was even simpler and intuitive.

Features of WP Rocket
  • Lazyload images: LazyLoad displays images on a page only when they are visible to the user.
This reduces the number of HTTP requests mechanism and improves the loading time.
  • Files minification & Concatenation: Minification removes any spaces and comments present in the CSS and JavaScript files.
This mechanism reduces the weight of each file and allows a faster reading of browsers and search engines.
Concatenation combines all CSS and JavaScript files hence reducing the number of HTTP requests and improving the loading time.
  • Mobile cache: use a mobile plugin to optimize your site for mobile?, WP Rocket have you covered.
  • CDN Support: use a Content Delivery Network?, WP Rocket take the pain out in setting it up in WordPress.
  • Cache Preload: say you cleared an expired cache file, the preload robot simulates a site visit thus enabling WP Rocket to cache the pages.
  • And so much more..

Thanks to WP Rocket, my blog load time has reduced from over 2s to 1.42s
