How To Check PC If It’s 32-Bit or 64-Bit Operating System

Are you confused about what operating system is your computer running on? most times am about to download software for my computer, i am asked whether it’s for an operating system that’s 32-bit or 64-bit. to check what system type is your OS, the below steps will guide you.

Windows 7
  1. Go to your start menu
    .
  2. Click on Computer in the menu and then “System properties”
    Click on System properties
  3. If it is a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System, it will be written in System type
    32-Bit or 64-Bit Operating System
Both Windows XP and 7
  1. Go to the start menu.
  2. Choose all programs.
  3. Choose accessories, then system tools.
  4. Click system Information.
  5. You will see either “x86-based PC” (means you have a ’34-bit’ operating system) or “x64-based PC” (means you have a ’64-bit’ operating system) as the System Type

To view the “System Information” without having to go through the steps above, open RUN via WINDOW + R, type msinfo32 and click OK.
