Are you confused about what operating system is your computer running on? most times am about to download software for my computer, i am asked whether it’s for an operating system that’s 32-bit or 64-bit. to check what system type is your OS, the below steps will guide you.
Windows 7
- Go to your start menu
. - Click on Computer in the menu and then “System properties”
- If it is a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System, it will be written in System type
Both Windows XP and 7
- Go to the start menu.
- Choose all programs.
- Choose accessories, then system tools.
- Click system Information.
- You will see either “x86-based PC” (means you have a ’34-bit’ operating system) or “x64-based PC” (means you have a ’64-bit’ operating system) as the System Type

To view the “System Information” without having to go through the steps above, open RUN via WINDOW + R, type msinfo32 and click OK.
